Step Out, Connect, Feel Good — RAHWM Community Walks
Healthy People, Stronger Communities Together
At The Real African Housewives of Manchester, we believe that wellbeing is about more than physical health. It is also about friendship, belonging, connection and having people around us who care.
Our fortnightly community walks bring women, men, families and friends together in a welcoming outdoor environment.
These walks provide opportunities to stay active, enjoy nature, meet new people, share conversations and build supportive relationships.
By creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect, we aim to reduce isolation, promote positive wellbeing and strengthen community participation.
The walks form part of our wider commitment to empowering African women while encouraging inclusion and stronger relationships across Greater Manchester.
Everyone is welcome. Together, we walk for our health, our happiness and our community.

OCTOBER PINK COMMUNITY WALK
Honouring Our Communities – Black History Month 2026
Celebrating Our Heritage. Recognising Our Contributions. Strengthening Our Communities.
9 October 2026 | Oldham Library, Greater Manchester
RAHWM Working in Partnership to Celebrate Black History Month
The Real African Housewives of Manchester (RAHWM) was proud to be part of the organising team for Honouring Our Communities, a Black History Month 2026 celebration delivered in collaboration with Global Majority Oldham and SAWN.
This community celebration brought together local organisations, inspirational speakers, residents and families to recognise Black heritage, celebrate achievements and highlight the contributions of Black communities across Oldham and Greater Manchester.
From Planning to Delivery: Our Contribution
RAHWM played an active role throughout the planning and delivery of the event.
Our members contributed to:
* Planning and preparation: Participating in organising meetings, sharing ideas and helping shape the event programme.
* Community stalls: Supporting the organisation and coordination of stalls to showcase local businesses, community groups and initiatives.
* Guest speakers: Helping identify, invite and arrange key speakers to inspire, educate and engage attendees.
* Promotion and outreach: Raising awareness of the event through community networks and encouraging participation.
* Event coordination: Supporting preparations before the event and helping coordinate activities on the day to ensure a welcoming and organised celebration.
Celebrating Heritage and Strengthening Community Connections
The event provided an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and generations to connect, share experiences and celebrate the achievements of Black communities.
Through inspirational talks, cultural activities, community stalls and meaningful conversations, the celebration promoted representation, cultural pride, inclusion and greater understanding.
Community Leadership Through Partnership
Our involvement reflects RAHWM’s commitment to working collaboratively with other community organisations.
Since our establishment in 2016, we have been dedicated to empowering African women, promoting wellbeing, celebrating African heritage and encouraging greater participation in community life.
By contributing our time, experience, networks and volunteer efforts, we continue to demonstrate that grassroots organisations can play an important role in bringing people together and strengthening local communities.
Looking Ahead
We are proud of what was achieved through partnership with Global Majority Oldham, SAWN and everyone who contributed to the celebration.
We look forward to building on these relationships, developing future community initiatives and creating more opportunities for African women, families and the wider community to connect, participate and thrive.
Together, we honour our heritage, celebrate our achievements and build stronger communities.

RAHWM in Action: Celebrating Culture and Giving Back at 2-Zero Manchester 2026
30 August 2026 | Community Engagement & Cultural Celebration
The Real African Housewives of Manchester (RAHWM) proudly participated in the 13th edition of the annual 2-Zero Manchester Kermesse, continuing a tradition of community involvement that has been part of our organisation since its creation in 2016.
Our members volunteered their time to prepare and serve free traditional African food, including puff-puff, kidney beans and bouillie, sharing our cultural heritage with families and members of the wider community.
For RAHWM, sharing food represents much more than hospitality. It creates opportunities for people to meet, exchange experiences, celebrate their heritage and strengthen community relationships.
Our participation reflects our ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, cultural awareness, volunteering, social inclusion and community wellbeing.
We are proud to be part of an event that celebrates unity through sport, music, family activities and community togetherness.
Our commitment goes beyond words. Since 2016, we have continued to give our time, energy and resources to activities that bring communities together.
